“Demographic control of volcanic risk perception: case of Goma, DR Congo (Preliminary results)”

Dear all!

We continue our geo-webinar series with a second “episode”, which will be broadcast on Friday 5 February at 12.30 pm (Belgian time), via the online platform Zoom. Blaise Mafuko, doctoral student at RMCA and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and Chef de travaux at the Geology Department of the University of Goma, will present the latest advances in his research “Demographic control of volcanic risk perception: case of Goma, DR Congo (Preliminary results)”.After a 20-30 minute presentation, we will have the opportunity to ask him questions for about 10-15 minutes. In order not to disadvantage anyone, the oral presentation will be in French, while the slides will be in English.

Invitation to online sessions of International Symposium on National Park and Natural Heritage

International Symposium on National Park and Natural Heritage Protection was successfully held in Beijing Normal University on December 12, 2020. The symposium was co-hosted by Faculty of Geographical Science of Beijing Normal University, National Innovation Alliance of National Park, Ministry of Natural Resources, Three-River-Source National Park Administration. (More information about the symposium, please refer to and Commission on Geoheritage of IGU is main sponsor.

It is hosted on every Saturday and Sunday since then, and until January 30, 2021. Each online session is about 1.5 hours and has a guest speaker to give presentations, and a discussion section.

On 23rd December 2019, students from the Universidad de Saint Augustin, Aréquipa made their end of term presentations for their geoheritage projects by teleconference from INGEMMET's Volcanic observatory. A first test for our Geoheritage for Resileince systeme.
